The 2025 IMSA VP SportsCar Challenge @ Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta: Through The Lens!

It was no secret that one of my favorite events going into the year was going to be the IMSA season finale at the Motul Petit Le Mans. The VP SportsCar Challenge did not disappoint. Sitting in turn 7, I had one of the best vantage points to get up close and personal with the cars. IMSA is the best series in North America for access for us photographers.

With the season winding down, Valentino Catalano was the favorite heading into the last race of the season for the LMP3 title. He won that title with ease in Road Atlanta. A championship win that came as no shock to this writer. He is a generational talent in the making. I have full confidence in that man he will land a Michelin Pilot Challenge or WeatherTech ride here soon.

Up next is the GT3 class, where Jake Walker was the man of the weekend. Again, no shocker here. He is the endurance driver for Turner Motorsport in the WeatherTech Series, so he knows a thing or two (or three) about the BMW M4 GT3, the old generation car, and he scored the victory in Race 1 with ease. He did not win the overall points championship, but make no mistake, this guy is fast!

Lastly we have the GT4 class, where Kiko Porto swept both races, and won the season title. Coming from the USF Pro open wheel ranks, jumping into a GT4 car was no easy task for Kiko, but you couldn't tell that by the way he was driving. He made is seamlessly easy. Absolute professional at driving and he can certainly wheel that thing no matter where he went. I am looking forward to seeing many great things out of Kiko in 2026.
