One of the reasons why I flew down to Sebring International Raceway this past weekend was to see the historic stock cars and some of the finest classic GT cars out there. Well, to say the least, I got the best of both in one session on the Thursday test day. The following album from Flickr is the 2025 HSR Sebring Pistons & Props: HSR NASCAR Classic & Group 10 Test Session 2 Photo Gallery.

First, we must start off with, what is the HSR NASCAR Classic presented by Goodyear series? Well back a year or two ago, the HSR Group 8 (Historic Stock Cars) was getting to a point in popularity and entries, that HSR decided it should be its own dedicated class. The cars contain anything that is not in the current homologation cycle in all 4 of NASCAR main divisions. If you want to bring a 1990 Dale Earnhardt GM Goodwrench car or a 2021 Kyle Larson Hendrick cars car, you are more than welcome to bring it! It just cannot be a GEN 7 car.

So, with that said, you can look at all the history books you want, but you get a real history lesson looking at all of these different cars from different eras. And with the test session, with me being the IMSA fan I am, I also got to see the GT3 cars of years past. One I loved in particular was the Bentley GT3 car from 2020. I remember when KPAX racing fielded those cars in the Pirelli World Challenge series before SRO bought it out. It was great to see those two worlds collide in the open test session and have them separate during the races themselves.

Now, before I dive into the galleries, let's spotlight one car, as I will do for every article. This one is on the Jimmie Johnson 2012 Kobalt Tools Chevrolet Impala SS (pictured above). This car may be known for Rick Hendrick's 200th NASCAR win, but that car is rightfully stowed away in a museum. This is another chassis. It was sold to a private collector, or since these cars are cut and paste templates across all makes, the person probably repainted it in those colors. When you are a rich person, you can paint a stock car any color you want!
